'Inclusivity, joy and a genuine love of making music together'

Words you'd expect to hear from a member of our community when describing what it's like to be a part of the gang - it's the general consensus, and what keeps us coming back to play week after week.

Those words sound even more special, though, when volunteered by someone who isn't (yet!) a member of one of the Modelski Music ensembles. When Aaron Symons from The Wirral Beacon - the region's go-to publication for local news and current affairs - visited the Williamson Art Gallery in May to check out Wirral Big Band and Pop Orchestra's latest concert offering, he didn't just come away with a gig review. His subsequent article and video interview with MD Jan Modelski, which highlighted the sense of pride and togetherness we already know are the foundations of our wonderful community, clearly left a lasting impression of the reason our music-making mission is so important- and enjoyed by so many.

The gig review was there, too: as usual, Wirral Pop Orchestra and Big Band put on a stellar afternoon's entertainment to a packed crowd at the Williamson, and live recordings of that performance make the perfect soundtrack to Aaron's interview with Jan.

We're already shouting from the rooftops about how great it is to be a part of our musical adventures so Aaron's words aren't a surprising read, but just in case we ever thought we were biased...
